Change Motor oil & Filter (We suggest Castrol Syntec motor oil).

Change Transmission oil (A/T filter change additional; parts $85.00, labor $142.50).

Change Transfercase oil (Gear oil in LR T/C, ATF Dextron-III in BW T/C).

Change Front & Rear Axle gear oil (80/90w Gear oil).

Check/Top-up Swivel fluid (change if full of water).

Check/Top-up Power Steering fluid (ATF Dextron III).

Check/Top-up Brake fluid, Renew at 90K. (Castrol DOT4 or Syn DOT4).

Check/Top-up cooling system (see note at bottom regarding hoses & radiator).

Check for Leaks in Cooling/Heating system; Report:

Check/Replace Air Filter as required.

Check operation of Throttle Linkage and Kick-down cable, adjust as needed.

Replace Spark Plugs (we suggest Autolite w/2 year warranty).

Check Distributor cap and rotor arm for cracks & tracking (replace parts as needed).

Check Plug Wire set to cracks, burning and arcing; Report:

Check/Tighten Vacuum Advance Unit.

Check/Adjust Ignition Timing; see manual for specs.

Clean or Replace Crankcase Breather on RH valve cover, check hoses & “T”.

Check Valve Covers (2) for leaks, tighten cover screws.

Inspect Engine & Gearbox mounts; Report:

Replace Fuel Filter (at 90k miles).

Check for Fuel Leaks, all.

Check Exhaust System for leaks, security & damage.

Check/Tighten Prop-Shaft Bolts.

Lube Drive Shaft U-Joints.

Check/Adjust Tire Pressures, all; 34F/38R-PSI standard use (Do Not use “P” rated tires).

Check condition of Tires; Report:

Check for Oil Leaks; Engine, Transmission, Transfer, Swivels, Axles, Steering.

Check for Oil Leaks; Shocks & Load Leveler (when fitted).

Check Operation of Hand Brake.

Check Brake pipes/hose for security and leaks.

Check Brake Pads & Rotors for Wear; Report:

Check Hub Bearing end-float (bearing adjustment additional); Report:

Check/Tighten all Suspension Bolts; Radius arms, Panhard, Link Bars).

Inspect Shocks x4 for leaks and mounted securely; Report:

Check condition of Drive Belt(s); Report:

Check condition of Battery; Report.

Check All Lights and Signals for operation, replace bulbs as needed (extra charge if bush guards in the way).

Lube Door Hinges as required.

Inspect Wiper Blades x3, replace as needed. Top-up Washer Fluid.

Check condition and security of Steering Box, joints and gaiters.

Check/Adjust Steering Box; Report:

Check Front Wheel Alignment (additional time if rusted and unable to adjust tow-out).

Check for damage under car; Report:

Road Test & Report:

Check Operation of Cruise Control.

Check Operation of A/C (see A/C specialist if problems noted).

 It is suggested that all Heating/Cooling hoses (water) be replaced at/beyond 90k miles, in addition radiator should be removed and serviced by a radiator specialist.

 

 

 

 

 

Range Rover 4.0/4.6L – Discovery II

Change A/Trans Fluid (on 1996-1999 4.0/4.6 RR only)

Check Transmission for oil leaks; Report: 

Change Transfercase oil (Gear oil in Disco-II, ATF Dextron-III in RR).

Change Front & Rear Axle gear oil (80/90w Gear oil).

Check/Top-up Power Steering fluid (ATF Dextron III).

Check/Top-up Brake fluid, Renew at 90K. (Castrol DOT4 or Syn DOT4).

Check/Top-up cooling system (see note at bottom regarding hoses & radiator).

Lube Drive Shaft U-Joints as possible (some shafts have no zerk fittings).

 * = Regarding A/T fluid change on the later cars, Disco-II 1999-2004 and the Range Rover 1999-2001; the service interval has been changed from every 30K to, change at 15K then again at 100K. Customer wishing to change the fluid at 30K interval should advise WCB at time of work order. There is an additional charge for this. FYI: The A/T dipstick/filler tube has been removed from these cars, we can back-date and fit one at your request.
