ASTON MARTIN Memories

Above: Here's some memories; Some time in '69 or '70 dad took me out of summer school and we went to Merle Brennen's in Reno and a blue 3500S; turning off on 4th St west of Reno (no freeway in those days as you can see in the top photo of Sparks), we didn't make the turn down Virginia St, instead we headed to Harrah's Auto Collection - then the largest in the world! Dad met up with Jim Edwards and we looked at Cosby's '34 Aston that the Mrs had wrecked. A bit later the Thomas Flyer, the same car that won the New York to Paris Race, rolled up and left idling near the shop door... Dad says, "We're going to lunch with Jim" and we piled into, more like onto, the Thomas Flyer and roared off up 4th street to Harrah's Casino for lunch. About 5 minutes after we sat down Bill Harrah joined us!
